Let’s immerse ourselves in the beauty of flowers as we celebrate all that spring has to offer!

Dates: Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26

Location: Southington Community Cultural Arts Center, SOCCA 93 Main St. Southington, CT 06489.

The Connecticut Pastel Society is thrilled to announce a very special in-person workshop with Allison Krajcik. Allison is a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Society of Cape Cod. She has exhibited in national and international competitions, working both in soft pastels and oils. She also has a background in interior design and specializes in color consultation.

In Allison’s words: Getting that glow can be difficult when painting flowers! We will begin by discussing and demonstrating what to look for when arranging a floral still life and taking photographs and videos to work from. Since every good painting starts with a strong composition, we will edit these photos and videos and learn how to use the Notanizer app on your cell phones or IPads.

We will explore how to capture flowers, glow with a focus on value and color temperature relationships. Through simple and fun exercises, we will use color charts to practice dominance and the 60/30/10 rule to develop color plans for paintings.

This workshop is open to all levels.
Class size is limited to 15.
SOCCA offers a spacious, well-lit studio that will allow us to work together comfortably. It is centrally located and offers ample free parking.

Registration is online only at ctpastelsociety.org/education.
Tuition is $410 for members and $435 for non-members, which includes the flowers we will be painting.

Don’t wait to register. This workshop will fill quickly.

More information regarding schedule, supply lists, hotels if needed, etc., will be provided upon registration and as the workshop draws closer.
