Remarks by the Awards Judge:

It was a pleasure to view, and my honor to judge this wonderful exhibition of pastel paintings. CPS continues to do commendable work in organizing and presenting outstanding exhibitions for the enjoyment and education of the public. I found this show to be very fine in quality, presentation and breadth. I commend each artist for sharing the fruits of your creativity wih all who view this show. I beleive that every exhibitor is a winner in that every arwtork shown accomplishes one of a painter’s main objectives: to visually communicate her/his expression to others. Exhibiting art is always a win-win situation for both creator and viewer. Selecting awards is both an objective and subjective endeavor, somewhat in equal measure. A well-executed painting that catches the eye of one judge may not appeal to another. This being said, I wish to commend those who did receive awards and I thank all for paricipating in this exciting display of the pastel medium.
