Statement from the Juror of Selection: In selecting the Purely Pastel online exhibition for the Connecticut Pastel Society, my first experience, both emotionally and intellectually, was an overview of the total exhibit. It was a pleasure to see the "uniqueness" of creative effort in the entries. This characteristic reflects a variety of approach that is both creative and well-executed. It was also refreshing to see a variety of subject matter, which again reflects the reaching out of the inquisitive and talented artist! Frank Federico, PSA HFH, IAPS MC, CPS, NWS
Statement from the Judge of Awards: Congratulations to all the award winners and everyone selected to participate in this online show. Judging was difficult due to the number of high-quality paintings. It is always inspiring as an artist to view such fine work and observe the various styles and interpretations of subject matter. Mike Beeman, PSA, IAPS MC
Statement from the Exhibition Chair:
It has been an honor to chair the Connecticut Pastel Society’s 2018 Purely Pastel Online Juried Show. This is an exciting new opportunity for artists as well as CPS. The one thing that hasn’t changed from past Purely Pastel Juried shows is the caliber of artwork that was submitted by our membership!
Thank you to Frank Federico our juror and Mike Beeman our awards judge; we are grateful for your hard work. Thank you to the board and members of CPS for your commitment to the organization and the artists, and a special thank you to the artists who submitted artwork to this show. I was inspired by all of the talents on display. Stacy Mayou, Purely Pastel Chair
