Each year, CPS offers educational workshops taught by nationally recognized artists from across the country. Due to the caliber of our professional instructors, students register in advance for our workshops through the CPS Website.
The focus is on providing opportunities for our fellow artists to further develop their skill level in the medium of pastel. CPS sponsors instructors who offer a diverse variety of content and are generally suitable for any level of expertise. Workshops are an excellent opportunity to enjoy the comradery of people who share an appreciation of the pastel medium and to learn new techniques from an admired instructor.

CPS is pleased to feature Judith Leeds, whose honors include a Signature member of Pastel Society of America, International Pastel Societies Master’s Circle, and an Elected Member of the Salmagundi Club.
In this workshop, Judith will reveal her secrets to doing a pastel painting that captures the personality of the subject. There will be a few different models, taking both short and long poses over the first two days. On the third day, there will be one long pose. Judith will be doing demonstrations to show her method. Open to all levels.
“People have their lives etched into their faces. To me, that is true beauty. It’s the intimate moments that define a life and I try to capture these fleeting impressions in these paintings
